The Board of Supervisors, reaffirming its commitment to open government and the public's right to timely information, has adopted a number of policies to ensure easy access to public records. Among these initiatives are requiring departments to post memos and letters online that were sent to three or more supervisors; establishing a county public records policy; and posting Board agendas, minutes, supporting documents, transcripts and webcasts online. Meetings are webcast live, and also archived on the website to allow the public to view entire meetings or just segments relating to a topic of interest.

Public Information Office
Need assistance in locating information you need about a County department, service or program? The Public Information Office will assist. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

	Board Correspondence Departments post their correspondence to the Board of Supervisors online to assist the public in understanding the activities and issues of County government. Department Contacts
	Board Meetings The public is able to research items discussed by the Board of Supervisors by viewing the agenda, supporting documents, minutes, transcripts, and video-transcripts. Meetings are also broadcast live on the website.
	Civil Service Rules Civil Service rules, part of the Personnel Code, are intended to assure employees are treated fairly and impartially, and cover such items as work assignment, transfer and reassignment, hiring, classification, and promotion.
	Commission Publications Meeting agendas are provided for County commissions.
	County Charter The County Charter was approved in 1913 to provide greater freedom of governance within the framework of state law. There have been a number of voter-approved amendments over the years.
	County Code The County Code contains most of the administrative and regulatory ordinances adopted by the Board of Supervisors
	Court Records Copies of court documents are available at a district headquarters courthouse in which the matter was handled, or if it is an older record at the Superior Court archives. Civil Records, Electronic \| Criminal Records, Electronic
	Forms This site provides a comprehensive list of forms used by County departments.
	Public Information Office The County Public Information Office serves as the centralized source of information for the public. It develops informational materials about the County and responds to public inquiries for information.
	Publications A list of County publications is provided alphabetically to assist in locating specific documents.
	Strategic Plan The County's Strategic Plan includes the County's mission statement and strategies for reaching identified goals.

Did You Know?

Board of Supervisors meetings are televised on KLCS, normally at 10 p.m. on Wednesdays.
